Design Optimization of Propulsive Stream Ducts In Modern Turbofan Engine Systems All cancers carry somatic mutations. The mutations are caused by "mutational processes" characterized by a disproportionate amount of mutation types. Using whole-genome sequences data of somatic cancers from 560 patients we would like to decode the mutational processes encoding the mutations. Understanding the mutational signatures will help understanding the biological processes causing such driver mutations therefore helping us to find more effective and personalized treatment to the patients.
I am a senior studying Mathematics and Computer Science and I always enjoy working on problems with multidisciplinary natures. Based on the work I have developed from the summer I have gained tremendous understanding of cancer genomics and I would like to continue the project for the coming year. I believe the skill I learn from SuperUROP would tremendously help me contribute to the understanding of genomics.
