Research Project Title:
Breast Cancer Prediction Through Deep Learning
abstract:Mammograms contain a lot of information that the human eye can’t see or decipher. Using deep learning can help detect very subtle changes and low-level patterns. The current aim of this project is to work on deep learning models that can correctly predict whether or not a patient has a risk of developing cancer. We are currently utilizing density, birads, and other scores to make such predictions.
“I am hoping to get serious hands-on research experience with machine learning. My interest in machine learning (ML) and my work in Professor Barzilay's lab in the past year helped prepare me for the job. I am trying to learn more about machine learning and how to apply it to real-life problems. To me, the best part of the project is that I will be working on solving cancer-related problems!”
