For many people, a significant amount of information they view is provided by social media platforms (SMPs). We explore how these SMPs affect user’ s ability to learn and enjoy their content preferences. I will design simulations that model an SMP recommender and a user interacting over time. I will then analyze the different curated content feeds and determine how feeds characteristics affect both the user’ s utility and the SMP’s profits.

I am participating in SuperUROP because I want to gain more experience in both machine learning and research as a whole. Applying learning models to real world applications is really exciting, and I hope to be able to publish my findings by the end.
