Enhancing Effectiveness and Quality of ICU Environment Through Artificial Intelligence Techniques
abstract:Digital healthcare applies advances in technologies to conventional healthcare systems in order to increase effectiveness and quality. Recent developments in artificial intelligence allow analysis and inference on large datasets that have not been processed, with patient report outcome (PRO) being one such example. The project aims to design, develop, and implement a prototype that incorporates digital-based approaches and algorithms to make efficient use of PRO and similar types of data. Current alternatives, such as PROMIS, lack integrated electronic platforms which can facilitate or automate PRO collection and analysis. The outcome has the potential to extend to fields beyond healthcare systems where anonymous data collection and automatic analysis is needed.
"I am joining SuperUROP because it will provide me in-depth research training and the opportunity to participate in the advances of a field. Coming from a background in CS and Bio-engineering, I am interested in digital healthcare and personalized medicine. Through this project of building a platform for medical data collection and analysis, I wish to sharpen my full-stack development/machine learning skills and learn more about healthcare digitization."
