Wireless communication is a vital part of the Internet of Things (IoT) sphere. Most of the developed communication methods consume a lot of power making them hard to use in scarce energy environments. This project develops an extremely low power IoT communication system that uses the new Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) method. We envision the system to consume the lowest power possible and be able to securely communicate with any device that has BLE capabilities like most modern smart phones. The amount of places this system could be used is vast, i.e., from health systems, to sensing technologies, to household technologies since it is always better to save energy.
I am participating in this SuperUROP because I wish to gain experience working on embedded systems, circuit design and wireless communication. Moreover, I wish to learn good research practices and make a considerable impact on the project.
