Abstract

My interests in medicine and computer science merge together nicely in this project. Machine learning algorithms allow us to use big data in medicine to improve medical practice and revolutionize health care, which is something I care deeply about. I have previously worked at the Yaffe lab in the Koch Institute looking at how cell signal pathways can be used to sensitize cancer cells to chemotherapy. In the future, I hope to utilize my computational skills to go further into medical researcher and develop algorithms for medical use.
