Annotation Studio is a collaborative, educational web application that enables students to experience digital documents as dynamic entities with many different layers of insight and analysis. In today’s modern world, digital documents have never been more accessible and advancements in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Named Entity Recognition (NER), and a myriad of other textual analysis techniques have made generating multiple layers of insights about a text easier than ever before. I plan to use textual analysis techniques to create layers of relevant and insightful information about a text that empowers readers to gain a deeper understanding of a text that facilitates more critical reading and thinking.
I want to participate in SuperUROP because I enjoy researching and developing new technologies. I believe that through my involvement with SuperUROP I will be able to garner a deeper understanding of the research and development process which will better equip me for the workplace where I plan to continue to be deeply involved in the research and development life cycle.
