Carbin is a smartphone application that has been developed to use a phone’s accelerometer to assess road quality and automobile condition. The goal of my project is to use the road statistics collected by Carbin to aid in determining solutions for large scale transportation. This will be done by developing a visualization tool. This tool will allow users to view road quality data for their desired region. They will also be able to view the carbon footprint of the road and view different time periods.
I have long enjoyed the analysis of complex data. Through SuperUROP, I hope to improve my data analysis skills and utilize them for the public good.
