This project focuses on exploring ways to expand the available color spectrum for re-programmable materials such as photochromic inks that can be used to change the color of objects. There are two main parts to this project. The first part involves working with material science researchers to explore photochromic dye that has smaller overlaps in deactivation wavelength. The remainder of the project will focus on studying the effect of projector distances on color space and refining the projection generating algorithm to accommodate a wider range of colors.
“The interdisciplinary nature of this project interests me a lot. It combines the microcontroller and algorithm knowledge I learned from class, with coloring and painting that I° “!m interested in outside classroom to create applications that simplify many real life activities.”
