Fabricating LED Displays Embedded in Textiles

This project aims to embed programmable LEDs into fiber and weave them into fabric to make a luminescent display on fabric. They will be mapped and controlled by a UI to make the most cohesive display possible. Once this is done, the fabric will be paired with a past project to make a surface that can display luminescent and non-luminescent colors.
I am excited for this SuperUROP because I am very interested in circuit fabrication on unconventional surfaces. In addition, I’ve had a lot of experience working with textile arts, so I’m looking forward to making them glow.
