Teaching a Computer to Understand Speech

Images and their corresponding spoken descriptions can be used to train computer systems to understand and learn new languages. Large amounts of this data can be more easily acquired through an accessible iOS app. This app will presents users with images and allows them to speak and interact with their iPhone as a means to convey what they are seeing in a natural way.
I have always been obsessed with mobile design and development and have recently been interested in exploring Artificial Intelligence. I hope to use my skills in an impactful way and additionally develop a deep understanding of the underlying technology over time.
